Soccer at its roots

Fazit: It is a fun game and if you like soccer then you could try and learn the moves
I saw this game in a EB games and I thought hey I like soccer why not try this game out. So I ended up getting the game. In the end I am super glad I did. It was a hard choice because I also wanted Shadow Of The Colossus but this game caught my eye because Ronaldinho was on fire at the time and he took up the cover.
When I got home I put it in and started it up. It had pretty awesome videos and moves. You got to make your own character look like whatever you wanted him to which I like in games. I like it when you can make a character because it makes it so you connect to the game. It makes you feel like this is my account and I alone have made it this far.
One sweet part of the game is the trick stick this is the right analog stick it makes you do some pretty sweet tricks like rainbows and bicycles. The fact that it is all street moves makes it so you do more tricks than any other soccer game out there, this will attract many players because that why is a lot of people like soccer games. The reason people buy soccer games is if they love the sport or love the tricks.
In Rule The Street Mode you get to make your character and start a team. you have 7 people on your team but you only have a four man squad on the field. you start out and you get to make your team better and your player better. You can get all the greatest players of soccer on your team and really rule the street. You start off with unheard of or probably made up players but once you get far enough into the game you start seeing more and more familiar names.
If you just want to make a great team without your player you can go to All Star team mode and you get to pick your players. you get to pick the flag that represents your team and choose the name for the team. you get to change your players body kits (Their clothes and gear) to make the team your own. I loved this mode because I was far but I still didn't have as good of team as I wanted so I went into All Star mode and made the team of my dreams.
You can change your players clothing kits as much as you want and it is one of the little things that just makes the game that much more versatile. Your kits don't affect how well you perform in a game so don't think about it to much but make sure you make your team play in style.
The game play is fast and fun since this is the street there are no refs so if you like getting the ball at all costs then this is the game for you. You can slide from behind which I think is a little maliciuos but I do what I have to. They will definitely do it to you so don't think just because you have got behind him that he has given up trying to get the ball.
The announcer is one of the funniest parts in the game he will tell you what is awesome and what he thinks is totally lame. So try your hardest to impress him because he is fun when he is rooting for you. The other sounds in the game are spot on. If you hit a fence sure enough you will be hearing that familiar ringing noise. Even the little things in this game were taken into consideration.
It is an easy game to play because you really just need to know the trick stick (right analog) and the shot button(0 button) once you learn these you are ready to play the game. There is much more to learn to truly master the game but if you don't play video games very much and aren't very good this game is for you because it is easy to quickly pic up the controller and play a quick match. Each match is only until one team scores three goals. It can be quick if you are facing a bad team but if you are playing Ronaldinho himself it might take a little longer.
you can do a continuous string of lofted passes like juggling you do this by pressing the square button before the ball hits the ground you keep doing this to get the juggle effect you want. sometimes your players will do moves you couldn't even imagine but are possible. Not only does this keep the ball away from the defenders but it also gives you trick points. Trick points help with your game because if you get enough you will get an unbelievablly powerful shot.
In rule the street mode you are trying to get your rep up so you can be the best. Their are different levels of rep. After every game you get a little bit of rep and some skill bills which you use to get into tournaments and to upgrade your player. I liked the fact you had to get your rep up to move on in the game because that is truly how it is on the street.
The graphics are awesome even the crowd is in pretty good detail they are sitting where they can just to see the game and in tournaments the closer to the finals the more the crowd.
This is a great game and any soccer lover should have it if you like creating characters and soccer this is the game for you. It has many tricks and great graphics all round it is a great game
