Fazit: Great options, great pictures and videos but the workmanship is a bad.
Ok, I had this camera for 18 days and was great. Lots of functions which reminded me of my old manual Pentax film camera.
Problem is it stopped working. Would not power up all of a sudden. This could have been an isolated case. Kodak has a great name and I have family members who have Kodak DIgitals and they all love them and have had no problems.
Purchased at Best Buy and with there 14 day excahnge or return....... they would not replace it. Even when I was heading on vacation. Instead, the camera is now off to be repaired and it will take 30 to 90 days for it to be returned. I was informed that there has been some problems with the battery connections.
I was told this should be covered under warrenty. If not Kodak would have lost a loyal customer.
Maybe I should have stuck with my Fuji.
Has anyone else have problems with this camera?
Here are some possitives about it (when it worked).
Fast picture speed, Great clear picture, Movie function was great. THe light levels kept changing which was annoying but I haven't found away to correct that yet.
CONS....
Could have came with a recharge battery and plug in charger. Docking station/charger is hard to find.
The stupid flash pops up everytime you turn it on. Gets annoying when you don't need it. I could see this breaking in the future. Should have a different button or a manual touch up and down.
Flash card cannot be read by a normal card reader. Could be just me but I tried it on 3 different readers and it can only be read by the Kodak software which is annoying because i cannot download pictures from someone elses computer or put in a Digital Picture Frame.
Unlike the Fuji. this camera is only SD and not SD and XD compatible.
THe price is right for this camera and yuo do get all the great features that teh more expensive cameras have, however for an extra 20 to 40 bucks, I think you can get a better camera. Cannon, Fuji.
We will see how my camera problem turns out.
