Not intuitive
Pro:
Cool "humane" wake up. Sets itself.
Contra:
Complicated alarm set up. No battery backup. Price. No quick one button alarm cancel.
Fazit:
I do not recommend this clock/radio to anyone who does not have a rigid set schedule. Although it might be ok for a technophile who wants a challenge.

I just bought this radio, used, from a liquidator that has hotel furnishings, so it is probably from the hotel that the previous reviewer mentioned. However, I must disagree that the setting is intuitive, if I encountered this alarm in a hotel I would have a nervous breakdown. I was able to find the manual online easily. But the manual was not very helpful. I liked the idea of the gentle waking, and with my husband and I working opposite shifts the two alarm function is critical. The clock is also very modern looking. However, I cannot figure out how to check when the alarm is set for. Nor do I believe you can cancel the alarm without resetting it. (a hassle for the Monday holiday)In trying to set it last night, it did not go off this morning. (luckily it is a late morning) I did get it to work today, but I do not have any confidence that it is set correctly and as stated previously, there is no way to check. I had not considered the no battery backup, if I ever do get this thing set, and then have to do it again, I'll scream. The fact that you cannot just turn the alarm(s) off and on is a fatal flaw as far as I am concerned. As I work nights, and on a two week rather than one week schedule, I need to be able to turn off my husbands alarm if he is not there, without having to reset the whole thing. The whole reason for the atomic clock is the auto set idea.. we have a lot of storms, and that was why I wanted the atomic clock in the first place. I think I will take this back, and go with the $4 alarm clock at the dollar store! At least then I won't have unmet expectations.
